The best SPAs for mums-to-be in London

As a mother of three myself, I have tested and tried many spa locations in London. I quickly realised that some maternity treatment places are better than others. I truly believe that self-love and self-care are among the most important things any mum-to-be can and should do. Our body goes through a life-changing event, and pregnancy is hard on our bodies. It is so important to keep active, hydrated and pampered! You can start at home with a lovely face mask and some body butter (the secret is to massage it into damp skin) or go for the real deal and let yourself pamper by the professionals.

All the spas in this post are approved, -yep by myself!

I was not invited or gifted any treatment or massage and unfortunately, I did not receive anything in return (except a very relaxed body and mind).

Koia London

Pilates and yoga studio, spa and beauty clinic in one. This beauty parlour in Notting Hill is calm, relaxing and ultra-chic. The aesthetics and interiors remind you of a mix of South Korean-style and Californian-vibe treatment place, with super kind and knowledgeable staff.

They have a particular pregnancy massage bed and use special massage technics to keep the baby safe and mum utterly relaxed.

I had multiple massages during my last trimester and a facial while breastfeeding, and both times I felt welcomed and well cared for. Before and after my sessions, I got herbal tea and water to stay hydrated. The towels and robes are utterly soft and cosy (which is essential, in my opinion)

Cowshed Spa

Pregnant or not, the products used for the treatment are incredible. No wonder the exclusive members club Soho House has a cowshed spa in nearly every location. It doesn't matter if Babington House, Soho Farmhouse or abroad, they all boast stunning spa amenities with luxurious treatments and cowsheds famous products. They even have a special treatment list with all packages they offer for expecting mums. The beds are comfortable, and they always have spare pillows to use around your body -it's a bit like sleeping on a cloud.

If you rather stay in London, they have a Spa in quirky Primrose Hill and buzzy Shoreditch.

I had a pregnancy massage and manicures/pedicures in the since then closed down Notting Hill location and can highly recommend the treatments.

St Pancras Spa

Nestled inside the old train station of Kings Cross/Pancras Station this little Spa lets you escape in seconds from the hustle and bustle of London's never sleeping city. The building alone is worth visiting (make sure to walk the stunning staircase) and while you receive your treatment you will hear the white noise of the underground tubes huffing through the tunnels. With a sauna, steam room and small pool this makes the perfect half-day spa experience in combination with an utterly amazing pregnancy massage. I had a spa package (massage followed by a facial and finished it off with a traditional afternoon tea) and it was luxurious!

Cloud Twelve

Last but definitely not least, this private members club has a spa and treatment area for non-members. They offer everything and more! On their website they mention that they offer "The Best Resort Island Experience In Central London" and I couldn't agree more. It really feels like a short holiday away from Notting Hill's hustle and bustle and the many tourists flocking to Portobello rd market. Spa treatments have membership and non-membership prices. While you are there for your pregnancy massage, check out the kids club, it might be a good time to find a space with like-minded parents, kids' activities and amenities.

In the need for a Gilbert Pediatrician ? Jasmyn Sambac has a great list.
