One of my greatest privileges as a photographer is to work with repeat clients and get annually booked for family photos. Tiffany asked me to update her children's portraits and I couldn't believe how big they got.
It was just a year ago that I took little Tabitha's newborn pictures and now she's sitting next to her siblings like a big girl.
simple & clean
I love a simple, clean and traditional childhood portrait. They are the framers for our walls. Simple portraits are the photos we want to print and send all the grandparents, aunties and godparents as little keepsakes. They are fast-paced to work around toddler moods.
Light and airy in the comfort of your home, garden or even a park or the beach. Portraits are always a little reminder of our children's facial features, smiles and missing teeth.
The traditional sibling's photo isn't far and always included are the little shots in between sibling poses that are chatty, giggly and relaxed. Look at the girls they will be gossiping very soon... or are they already? I hope it wasn't about the crazy lady behind the camera :)
working with and around children
I always make sure children are involved in the progress. Rupert had a great idea of how to pose and was very proud of the composition-of course I had to take a picture! Didn't his idea (photo centre) turn out great? Even the naughty cat joined in, unfortunately, she really likes to play with pretty girl dresses....
The black and white portraits of the children might be my favourite. They are stunningly timeless and natural. Keeping colours neutral, and soft. Working with classic childrenswear brands and shapes, gives the portraits just the right bit of nostalgia.
This was the most perfect reaction to siblings' love. A smothering kiss was followed by complete shock and giggles from everyone else.
